A Fast Data-Driven Tool for Flood Risk Assessment in Urban Areas

چکیده

Post-disaster flood risk assessment is extremely difficult owing to the great uncertainties involved in all parts of exercise, e.g., uncertainty hydrologic–hydraulic models and depth–damage curves. In present study, a robust fast data-driven tool for residential introduced. The proposed can be used by scientists, practitioners and/or stakeholders as first step better understanding quantifying monetary terms. Finally, risk, terms, determined derived coupling IDW method, curves reported literature, vulnerability areas exposure GIS tools. applied highly urbanized flood-prone area, Mandra city, Attica region Greece. results maps specific periods. Overall, from application reveal that effective post-disaster management. However, it must noted additional information data needed verification damages floods. Additional result calibration, validation overall performance tool.

A Framework for Flood Risk Analysis and Benefit Assessment of Flood Control Measures in Urban Areas

Flood risk analysis is more complex in urban areas than that in rural areas because of their closely packed buildings, different kinds of land uses, and large number of flood control works and drainage systems. The purpose of this paper is to propose a practical framework for flood risk analysis and benefit assessment of flood control measures in urban areas. Based on the concept of disaster ri...

Methods for creating a flood risk assessment tool

This report is intended to be used by researchers working on decision support tools in flood risk management. It describes the construction of a GIS-based flood risk assessment tool and reviews each feature in turn, making up the hazard, vulnerability and risk interface of the tool. Feedback from emergency professionals is presented in a companion report, alongside some practical recommendation...

Flood risks in urbanized areas – multi-sensoral approaches using remotely sensed data for risk assessment

Estimating flood risks and managing disasters combines knowledge in climatology, meteorology, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, statistics, planning and geography – thus a complex multi-faceted problem. This study focuses on the capabilities of multi-source remote sensing data to support decision-making before, during and after a flood event. With our focus on urbanized areas, sample methods an...

Data-driven approaches for emissions-minimized paths in urban areas

Concerns about air quality and global warming have led to numerous initiatives to reduce emissions. In general, emissions are proportional to the amount of fuel consumed, and the amount of fuel consumed is a function of speed, distance, acceleration, and weight of the vehicle. In urban areas, vehicles must often travel at the speed of traffic, and congestion can impact this speed particularly a...
